Specific Bequest:

I give, devise and bequeath _______________ (insert dollar amount or item of property to be donated) to Brewster Academy, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code with national headquarters located at 80 Academy Drive, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, 03894 to be used for the benefit of Brewster Academy as the Academy may determine.

Residuary Bequest:

I give, devise and bequeath _______________ (insert % amount) of all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to Brewster Academy, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code with national headquarters located at 80 Academy Drive, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, 03894 to be used for the benefit of Brewster Academy as the Academy may determine.

Restricted Gift (Specific or Residuary) Bequest:

I give, devise and bequeath _______________ (insert dollar amount, item of property or % of residue) to Brewster Academy, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code with national headquarters located at 80 Academy Drive, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, 03894, to be used exclusively [insert restricted use language here].

Contingency Gift:

Takes effect only if a primary intention can’t be met. If (insert name of beneficiary) does not survive me, or shall die during the administration of my estate, or as a result of a common disaster, then I give to Brewster Academy a non-profit corporation as described in section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, with national headquarters located at 80 Academy Drive, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, 03894, all of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, to be used for the benefit of Brewster Academy as the Academy may determine.

Safety Language:

Note: A bequest may not be received or used by Brewster for many years. We would like to talk to you, your family, and your estate professional to be sure that the restricted bequests support work that continues to be feasible into the future. In the event the purposes of the restriction, in the judgement of the Board of Trustees of Brewster Academy, is or shall become impracticable or unwise, the Board may devote any remaining assets exclusively for charitable purposes that: (a) are within the scope of the charitable purposes of charity; (b) most nearly approximate the original purpose of the gift; and (c) benefits charity.
